This workshop is an introduction to working with breath, and enhancing awareness of the physical and energetic body. The one common denominator that connects us all is breath, and as actors, voice actors and singers we need to manage, maintain and train our breath for successful performance. Join Stephanie—registered breath and reiki practitioner—and Emily—registered yoga teacher and life coach—while we look at anatomy, explore some simple but very effective breath work, bring awareness to the energetic body as well as discover stretches, yoga poses and physical exercises that enhance your lifestyle, mood and performance. The Art of the Self Tape

This class is for young actors AND their parents! We understand the initial overwhelm that can present itself when you are new to the industry. Parents, fear no longer! The world has changed—we aren’t going to in-person auditions anymore. The Art of the Self Tape covers everything you need to know to send in a successful self-tape audition for voice and/or on camera. We will cover technology, lighting, framing, audio and also offer tips and tricks to analyze a breakdown as well as tools to make quick character choices! Don’t let your self tapes give you nightmares. We got you.

Guest Masterclass | Mary-Lu Zahalan | Pop Performance

Each month, the Infinity Forge will feature an artist as a guest masterclass host. This coming January, we are so excited to have Mary-Lu Zahalan joining us. This three-time Juno nominated artist is the co-author of Power of Performance: Becoming the Artist You Were Meant To Be and the creator and head of the Commercial Vocal Department in the Musical Theatre program at Sheridan College, as well as an extremely talented actor, voice actor and singer. She will be listening to your pop song performance and offering feedback and performance coaching! Youth Musical Theatre Audition Prep

Are you wanting to get into the Musical Theatre world and need some audition support? Jamie can help. With over 20 years experience as an acting, singing and piano instructor, Jamie is making waves in the Musical Theatre scene in Canada. Her long list of credits include a recent performance of The Bakers Wife in Sondheim’s Into the Woods with TIFT at the Winter Garden Theatre and she will be travelling to Montreal to star in the premiere of a brand new work, to be announced soon. This quadruple threat will offer a list of resources for sourcing materials as well as a Q & A period where talent—and their parents—can ask questions!
